Nifty Fifty Challenge

Over the next 12 months I intend to tackle my 2012 to-do list.
I am confident at the moment I can have all of them covered and completed by 31/12/12 (providing the Mayans are full of shite).

I shall provide updates to this page in due course of the year ahead, however, I also intend to add to the list as it's not quite a 'Nifty Fifty' as yet.

Wish me luck...or if you have any suggestions, post them in the comments section please :)

Twitter & TV

#33 - Utilise Twitter more.

I will admit that when I first signed up to Twitter.......... it was boring, I didn't know anyone on it, I didn't know how to use it and didn't really want to know. All i ever did for the first year (i think) was extract information from it, be it gig news, football stories or just plain old local/scottish news. Don't get me wrong though..twitter is absolutely fantastic for all of those things but i never really interacted with it. so...my task for the year is to use it a lot more. I think it's helped that Facebook has become very stale at the minute and made me want to use twitter more. Anyway...

As you can see from the picture I am on the road to nearly 750 tweets and have now got 65 followers (not ALL of them are spam-bots btw). I am really enjoying it at the minute and Facebook has taken a total backseat and I have been considering deleting it

Mon the twitter.

#27. Get into 3 new TV series'

I've been trying to fill in a gap with a TV show to watch since...let's face it. TV is fucking awfil most of the time.
so i scrambled my brains about thinking what tv series has been out recently that i could enjoy....the answer?

Brilliant! Genius! Phil Glenister is a legend! Wish I had watched it years ago, but I suppose it is nice to be able to watch the complete series without having to wait a week for a new episode...however, the downside is that i blasted the series' and have now finished it and am back at square one.

If you havn't watched Life on Mars, get it done.

P&B - The dots game.

I did it! my goal of 250 dots is complete!.........and then some!

I must say most of them were down to the recent events at ibrox as I picked up a fair few "greenies" at their demise. The pick of the lot just a throw-away quip about Papac scored me 17dots. Thank you P&B. That's #50 off the list.

Weight loss #1 priority

As most people tend to do in the new year, I have set myself the goal of dropping a stone in weight. This was mostly brought on by some ghastly photos of me taken over the festive period where I have adopted a chin for christmas coupled with the embarassment of having to buy a pair of 40" waist trousers. - A new low.

Unofrtunately, I did not take the time to actually weigh myself after the new year when I started so it is difficult to tell how much weight exactly I have lost. If I were to pluck a ballpark figure I would say in the region of 15.5stone...possibly more.

Now, the task at hand. I am a very lazy person and I will opt for a takeaway most nights because both me and my girlfriend cannot be arsed cooking, this was the first thing to change. NO MORE TAKE-AWAYS. The next culprit on my list was crisps, i have never beena chocolate person, infact, most times the smell of chocolate makes me feel sick, but i always over compensated my lack of chocolate for crisps. Monster munch, squares, onion rings, space raiders, transformers the LOT. I'm not quite sure if there is a flavour out there that I don't like...hmm...anyway..NO MORE CRISPS. Next on the hit-list was the fizzy drinks, irn-bru, coca-cola all full fat...NO MORE FIZZY DRINKS (unless consumed with alcohol on a weekly/fortnightly basis, and sure as shit not full fat). Anyway.................cutting out these three things on top of a diet plan which consists of:

Breakfast: Porridge or whole-grain cereal.
Lunch: Soup+bread roll
Dinner: Anything within reason, cut-down portion size+more vegetables.
and plenty of water, with absolutely no snacking or "treats", except fruit.

sticking to this plan since around 22nd janruary to now (March 7th). I now weight 13st, 7.
Now, as I said earlier it's hard to judge what i was before i started this as I (stupidly) didn't weigh myself, but potentially, this is a weight loss of nearly TWO STONE IN TWO MONTHS - WITHOUT EXERCISE.

I am absoluely astonished right now at these results but cutting out the snacks and rubbish has been quite difficult but I feel really good about it at present. My clothes fit better and my 40" waist trousers and hanging off me and should probably be binned :-). I do intend to start an exercise regime soon as this was put on hold when i sprained my ankle pretty bad....

but there you have it. Goal #1 has been done and hopefully I can make it down to 12st.7 which is my target weight for my height.......if BMI is to be believed anyway...
